a little update

Here is our most recent family picture. It was taken on Thanksgiving Day 2007. I love this picture, I just wish that there wasn't so much of me in it. Most of you probally got the picture with a Christmas Card, (if I had your address).

s is 8 now, how I can't believe he's so old. It makes me feel old to be the parent of a second grader, he is so smart. He was just tested and got into the gifted and talented program (GT) at school, he is bored and sometimes getting off task. His teacher understands him, and is more than willing to put up with him and keep him challenaged, but not get to far ahead of his class. The GT program should help him explore some new things, they do alot of science things that the schools can't do in a normal classroom. He is so excited, mostly because he'll get to go on a lot of field trips and miss some normal class time. He has discovered the love of reading, he'll even read to e for me. She can't wait until she can read as good as him. Being only in Kindergarten she's not very good yet. She has been working on high frequency words, and learning more and more everyday. As of now, she pretends to read at bedtime while s and I are reading. She loves her class and her teacher, I work and the school where they go, so I see them often throughout the day, it's kind of fun.

I work in the Extended Resources Room at their school. We have nine students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Five are in wheelchairs 2 with down's syndrome and various other disablities. Everyday there is an adventure. I'm sure I'll have many interesting stories to come from room 409. I really feel like I am making a difference in the world working with these kids. What I do matters to them, and we are learning life skills on a daily basis.

As I'm writing this T is yelling at the TV, Greenbay Packers are playing. He's not going to be in a very good mood if they don't win. He's never really been a sports watcher until now, because "his team" is in the play-offs. He even took a few hours off work, crazy, for football? He works very hard and plays very hard, I'm very thankful for him and all he does for us. I just wish he'd be less vocal about it.

Well I've ranted enough for today, blog ya later...
